Reviews and custom practice
Use Review for cards that are due. Custom practice lets you choose material to revisit whenever you want. Answers there don’t change your review schedule or earn review XP.
Choose a practice set
Link to “Choose a practice set”Open Practice → Custom practice. Choose from all active cards, trouble cards, mistakes from the last seven days, or one deck. Then choose the session size.
The advanced options let you choose vocabulary, grammar, or both. For vocabulary, you can also choose recognition, production, or a mixture. The available options depend on the material you select.
Custom practice is also called free study. It is separate from scheduled reviews, even when you practice the same card.
Why is a card still due after practice?
Link to “Why is a card still due after practice?”Custom practice leaves its schedule unchanged. Complete the card in Review to update when it is due next.
You can practice after finishing your due reviews without adding more scheduled work.
Why is my practice set empty?
Link to “Why is my practice set empty?”There may be no active cards that match your choices. Try a different deck or choose All cards. A recent-mistakes set needs a missed review from the last seven days.
