Developer access
Vocapi’s personal API and MCP connector let your tools read your learning data. They cannot submit reviews or change your progress.
Personal API
Link to “Personal API”Use the API for your own scripts or dashboards. It provides your cards, reviews, vocabulary, progress, achievements, and writing history, with cursor pagination for lists. The default limit is 60 requests per minute per endpoint per key.
In the app, open Settings → API keys. Create a key with the scopes you need, and save it when it is shown. You can rotate or revoke keys from the same screen.
See the API reference for the available endpoints and request format.
Connect an AI tutor
Link to “Connect an AI tutor”Use MCP when you want a compatible AI client to read your learning context. It uses Vocapi sign-in approval, separate from personal API keys.
See the MCP reference for available data, tools, and removing access.
Access and privacy
Link to “Access and privacy”A key or connection accesses the learning data of the account that created it. Course access follows the same entitlement rules as the app. Both developer options are free for endangered-language courses, with no separate developer tier.
For help connecting a tool, contact support. For a security concern, use the private reporting instructions.
